Please adhere to the theme as outlined in the exhibition title: A Visual Arts Dialogue on Death and Dying/Grief and Loss. This is a part of life that we may not be used to exploring or presenting in public. Death and dying have been taboo, hushed, private. This statement will be placed with each piece to facilitate dialogue even when the artist is not present. What is the artist trying to communicate? (Intention). An Artist Statement must accompany each entry. Use up to 250 words to provide background for the creation. Describe the emotions, ideas and symbolism, if any. Work will be evaluated as to adherence to the theme, technical skill, and artistic merit.
There will be a gala opening Saturday October 21st from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. A “Dialogue” about the art will occur at 2:00 with any artists present. They will get an opportunity to talk about their reason for making this art.
Unsold art must be picked up by Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
