Now calling New Westminster home, I was born in Victoria BC and lived all across Canada while growing up, providing me with a great appreciation for all of Canada’s natural spaces. As a nature & bird enthusiast, my inspiration comes from what I see around me every day; trees/flowers/birds/animals, as well as people, community and kindness.
After working for many years in business management, I decided to follow my passion and began my journey into the arts in 2018, and I’m now an avid advocate for following the dream that’s laying deep in one’s heart!
I am a representational artist, generally working in realism as I find it perfectly suited to convey my intrigue in the details of texture, light and shadow. Within the realism of my work I also enjoy the cognitive process of incorporating various design elements not immediately seen in the natural landscape; playing with scale, adding pattern and simplified shapes, using symbolism, planning composition, and using various mediums.
I specialize in the mediums of graphite, charcoal, pen & ink, and watercolor. Capturing both detail and emotion, my work focuses on nature inspired art, portraits and pet portraits, conveying both the universal and unique elements of expression, personality and mood.
Through my work I strive to observe, to see life slowly, and intentionally, and to express my gratitude for this moment in space that I get to occupy.
