Poet Laureate Emerita of New Westminster, BC CANADA and a professional visual artist, writer, and musician, Candice has shown her artwork at Century House; Artists On The River; Queen’s Park Art Gallery; New Westminster Public Library; Pacific Art Market, and the Gallery on 12th. She is self taught and the mediums she uses are acrylic on canvas and watercolour.
James’ artwork has appeared in Duende Magazine and “Spotlight” Goddard College of Fine Arts, Vermont, USA; CQ Magazine and in Wax Poetry Art Magazine Canada. Her paintings have appeared as the front cover of 54 print books and her painting(“Unmasked”) on the cover of Survision Magazine, Dublin, Ireland.
Comments on her paintings suggest a surrealism reminiscent of Monet and her use of colours has been compared to Kandinsky and O’Keefe. Her paintings exude an inherent energy that seems to instill them with a life and spirituality of their own. Candice has sold over 100 of her paintings internationally and has authored 23 print books of poetry.
