My name is Hanna-Barbara BERWID. I have been living on wonderful Planet EARTH for over 60 years.
I was born in Poland, where I have lived for over twenty years, the next almost twenty years I lived in France and the last twenty-one years I live in Canada… I am a citizen of this WORLD
I started painting over 30 years ago after the death of my son – David.
My paintings contain JOY and SADNESS.
The impermanence of LIFE and its BEAUTY.
THE PAIN of a wounded SOUL that has been deprived of a ray of sunshine and who nevertheless emerges above the clouds to look bravely at the world around it.
I paint STILL LIFE with oil paints on canvas, because I can best express my feelings. I don’t know how to say about myself, but I hope my paintings reflect my emotions well.
I also hope that everyone who looks at my paintings will have their hearts touched.

Despite the sadness in my paintings, I am a nice and positive person, maybe because I still believe in human goodness. Life is a beautiful SURPRISE in our existence.
My life motto – THE JOY OF OTHERS IS MY HAPPINESS – makes me, regardless of my moods, always try to make other people happy.
