Kira was born in Moscow, Russia.
She graduated from Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Visual and Applied Arts in 2011, faculty of graphic arts. She is a member of Moscow Society of Artists, graphic arts section.
She moved to Burnaby in 2013 and became a member of the Burnaby Artists Guild. She also attended continuing studies courses at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
In 2017 Kira became a member of the Pastel Artists of Canada.
In 2019 she became an active member of Federation of Canadian Artists.
Kira lives with her husband and two children (and a cat) in Burnaby, BC.
She loves to make picture books as author/illustrator. She chooses the media depending on the subject of illustration.
In fine arts her main passion is landscapes, made with pastels.
Kira enjoys hiking and studying ancient history.
Artist Statement
I believe there is no need to talk much about art. One needs to observe it, to soak it with his pores, to breathe with it. I’m not looking for meaning in my art. The picture is born inside me – and I reveal it if I can.
