After decades of working as a journalist and editor, Stella HYX decided to finally pursue her passion of traditional oil painting. As a self taught artist, Stella draws upon her extensive knowledge of history and East Asian folklore to enrich her landscape works in both traditional and exotic or abstract styles.
Stella joined New West Artists in 2015. She participated many art shows. Now she lives in New Westminster and works primarily in oil paint. She paints landscapes, animals, flowers and birds. Stella enjoys the painting process very much, she believes the painting process is a kind of spiritual experience, like meditation.
